About the Music...

Electronic music  has taken up a large part of my musical life. I’ve been engrossed and fascinated with the wide variety of sounds that electronics has enabled me  to work with. In the early days it was often claimed that a synthesiser could produce any sound imaginable, while not true it has widened the sound palette available massively. This album  predominantly uses  the synthesiser to create dramatic soundscape material with more conventional music woven in. I started each track with a blank canvas as they say, not knowing where it was going to lead me, I’ve chose to title the album accordingly.    

Technical stuff...

Please note as with all my albums, against popular almost universal practice, I never use an audio compressor to make the track consistently sound loud and in your face.  When I use an audio compressor it is used very lightly only to address a specific  audio problem that has arisen and that’s it. This means that compared with all the highly dynamically compressed music out there it will seem to be comparatively quieter, well most of the time. The upside is e you get a proper dynamic volume range, you unusually get loud and quiet, light and shade, more like that of a classical orchestra. Turn up the volume and enjoy the loud and the quiet, the calm and the dramatic, the moving perspective, the near and far,
